What is Dry Eye Syndrome?

Dry eye syndrome is a chronic condition characterized by insufficient tears or poor tear quality, leading to discomfort, irritation, and potential damage to the surface of the eyes. This condition can require lifestyle changes and constant management through treatments like eye drops, warm compresses, and medications. Intense pulsed light therapy offers a long-term and non-invasive option for patients suffering with dry eye disease.

Meibomian Gland Dysfunction

Meibomian glands are oil glands along the upper and lower eyelids that secrete a necessary oil called meibum, which helps our eyes stay lubricated and comfortable. Over time, these glands become blocked causing the tear film to evaporate too quickly, which leaves us feeling dry and irritated.

Eyelid inflammation from meibomian gland dysfunction may lead to painful styes and achy, watery eyes. Through a dry eye evaluation, we can determine if you are suffering from meibomian gland dysfunction.

Dry Eye Treatment
What is IPL?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a technology used in various cosmetic and medical treatments. IPL emits light that produces heat, which reduces inflammation, increases gland functions and reduces tear evaporation.

Additionally, IPL is commonly used for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation issues, acne and hair removal. Treatments stimulate collagen production in the skin, leading to improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and overall skin rejuvenation.
What is RF?

Radiofrequency (RF) refers to a technology that uses electromagnetic energy to heat tissues beneath the skin's surface. This heat stimulates collagen production, which can lead to skin tightening and improvement in texture.

RF treatments are often used for skin tightening, wrinkle reduction, and body contouring. RF treatments are non-invasive with minimal discomfort and requires little downtime compared to surgical procedures.
